My Name is Khan - Review.

I watched this movie last night. Unexpectedly, it was really a good movie. The plot is goos, the actors and actresses are good and I love the message it delivers.

This movie is about an autism Muslim child who determines to meet the President of United States after his wife (a Hindu) blames him for the death of their child. The child carries his surname, Khan. This happens after the September 11 incident where humanity changes and prejudice and bias towards Muslim and Islam in US. During the arguement, the wife just say it out of anger that if he (Khan) wants to go back to the wife, he must tell all people in America that he is not a terrorist. Hence, "My name is Khan, and I'm not a terrorist."

In the movie, Khan's mother had taught him that this world only have two types of people, good people and bad people, and no other difference. In which it's true, we're all human, difference lies in the good and bad things we do and not the colour of our skin. Many innocent people dies because of racial prejudice. Try see people not from the colour lenses, but feel them with your heart.

Shah Rukh Khan's portrayal as an autism patient character is well worth an applause. It's a much watch movie this year and I don't regret watching it.

Of Building Bricks and 5.

During the last week of our last semester break, we stayed at 5's cousin's house. His cousin have 2 cute kids and the living hall is literally full of kids' stuff - toys, story books, school bag etc.

Well, one day, the kids brought out their building brick (not Lego) and play. 5 was fascinated and start to build some stuff from it (I don't remember it). I, too play along. It was fun to reminiscence the childhood feeling (I'm missing my childhood).

During my childhood, my toys are mainly hand-me-down from cousins. Cause kids grow up so fast so they don't need to have all new toys. And I remember my parents bought me a set of colourful building blocks (Lego is expensive) that I love so much and I played with it always.

So, back to the building brick story. 5 built a magnificent castle from the bricks and it was AWESOME! So beautiful (much better than my tree in the house)!

The castle.

Close up 1.

The "draw bridge".

I think he has the creativity gene in him that he denied a lot cause he say creative people (like me) never good at making and keeping $$ =.=. Haha.

To end this post, presenting you the master and his masterpiece... :)

Baking Project 1 : Pillsbury Moist Chocolate Cake.

3 weekends ago (you read me right), I was in the baking mood, hence baked 2 cakes. One is the chocolate moist cake which is the premix one from Pillsbury and another one is orange raisin cake which I modify from a magazine.

The moist chocolate cake is easy to bake. Just add the ingredients needed as instructed at the packaging and you can have one delicious cake!

The instructions at the back of the box.

Chocolate Moist Cake.

While for the orange raisin cake, it suppose to be orange poppy cake but I can't find any poppy seeds at bakery shop so I substitute it with raisins and it tasted like fruit cake. It's moist and buttery and full with raisins! I tried to add the glazed icing to it. It looks well but taste so sweet that I had to cut out the top part so that everyone can eat without getting diabetes. Hehe.

The batter.

The result.

Decorated with glazed icing.

My dad and mum said the chocolate moist cake taste better than the orange raisin cake. Luckily both also edible. Will try to bake again soon. :)

Blaming Issue.

For many times, consciously or unconsciously, we blame...blame everything that is wrong towards someone or something else.

I too, blames until someone told me that everything fault that happens is actually come from you yourself. It's true indeed. Many people blames why life is not fair. Why she can be pretty and rich while I can't? We both are human and why we have different life? Normally, people would blame it on God. What I want to say here is life ain't perfect but see from the positive point of view. There'll be something you had and she don't have.

Last few days, there was this football match between USA and England. Both ties at 1-1. And many was frustrated with the result and start blaming the England's goalkeeper. Hmmm...did they stand at his point of view and see what actually happens instead using the spectator's point of view?

Many people takes things for granted. Once they have it, they think they'll have it for the rest of their life. In life, there's nothing permanent. When somethings leaves for whatever reason, people start blaming and cursing, saying that the things should be his/her and should not lost.

I'm learning not to blame and instead using another "glass" to view a situation. Anyway, it's just random issue that pop up in my mind.

Random Thoughts...

I'm still awake. Can't get into the sleeping mood after rolling on bed for an hour plus. And suddenly I'm flashing back to the times during my kindergarten, primary and secondary school.

I still remember I'm a slow learner when I'm 5 years old. And my teacher always scold me for learning too slow and also, for my clumsiness. Sounds like a loser right? During that time, I always get caned, in kindergarten and home for being slow at learning letters and alphabets. In addition to that, I, who am a left hander makes it more difficult for teacher and mum to teach me how to write. I used to wept or cry when learning to write. Lol. Well one thing I like during that time is I'm tall compare to my classmate. :)

In the second year of kindergarten (I'm 6), teacher is awesome. I sill remember her name, Mrs. Tan. She was nice to every children and I heard from mum that she had became the headmistress of the kindergarten last few years. It was one of the good years I had in my learning institution life.

From primary 1 to 6, life had its share of ups and downs. But what I remember is during primary 1, my learning capability had increased tremendously and I can learn more easily. My mum would often credit my "cleverness" to this particular milk powder brand (I don't remember the brand) but I know it's RM20++ back in 1987 for a small tin. My parents really make sure I had good stuff for growing up.

I had a few favourite teachers during my primary school. The one I love the most would be Cik Nona. She's one awesome lady who puts a lot of effort and dedication in her work as a teacher. She's still teaching there. I still remember the nicknames she gave to us and always make us happy during her classes. :)

Fast forward to secondary school life. Form 3 would be the best year among the 5 years. And I had the best form teacher (Pn. Rosliza). She passed away when I'm in form 6. I heard from juniors she still going for classes though she's sick and I salute her for her commitment in her work. In that year, I still remember my class was the top class in collecting money for the canteen day and we won a few times "kelas terbersih". During school times, winning these awards means a lot.

I do missed those times and I'm looking forward to build my future. After leaving secondary school, I gained higher confidence level and I realise my potential and talent which is outsid of the contemporary education system. Well, if you're not good at school doesn't mean you're not good at doing other things.

Well, I shall be going to sleep now. Btw, craving or nasi lemak for breakfast since last week. :)

Vector Graphic Experiment 2.

I'm currently painting my 20 nails and writing blog. Well, currently I'm on this vector graphic craze. It's so good that you can create cute and beautiful stuff out of the software. :)

I've tried another 2 tutorials from http://verysimpledesigns.com/vectors/.

Valentine Wallpaper

My valentine wallpaper do not look exactly the same like the tutorial one. I think this is my worst vector graphic though.

Kokeshi Doll

The dolls are slightly different from the one in the tutorial. If you notice, the sleeve is different, the eyes are different, the hairstyle is different, the face expression is different etc. I love my dolls design much more than the tutorial one. :) Oh ya, my sis, Shyuan, do the tutorial too! But I think mine much nicer. Haha.

Oh, I'm on another vector graphic experiment. This time, I'm drawing the design of one of the BROS bottle design. Will show it to you guys when it complete! :)

If you missed the other part of my vector graphic experiment, here's the link.

It's late now and I need to sleep. Good night people. Sleep tight! :)

The First Week of Year 3 Semester 1.

Alas! I'm in my final year. I'll be a more challenging duration as more harder subjects and with the final year project.

I've transfered to another tutorial group with 5 and met with new classmates. As usual, first week literally means no much thing to learn and classes are off much earlier. I have 3 subjects this semester and no class on riday! :)

Traffic in uni is getting worst compared to previous semesters. And traffic jam happens! Parking was limited and vehicles (cars, motorbikes and bicycles) are like 3 times the amount of parking lots available. Guess the probability to obtain parking sticker this semester will be lower.

I'm the 661 to register.

On other matters...

Student bill hasn't out yet and PTPTN hasn't bank in either.

Maxis was out of service since Monday with occasional signal line which each time probably lasted for 10 minutes.

New neighbours are moving in and they are all students (pretty and handsome!).

5 and I are on budget food spending as what we did during our Foundation times (cause we're fat now.)

For the second time, I donate my blood and it was at the university.

Internet line was slow since 2 months ago and I wonder when it'll be faster. (?)

Chelsea is withdrawing from uni to pursue her flight attendance dream.

p/s: I am still in relax mode as the assignments stress haven't come yet.

Vector Graphic Experiment.

Recently, I'm in the vector graphic experiment mood! Well, vector graphic is so nice that I decided to try it out myself! I use Inkscape for my experiment.

Had try out 2 tutorials from http://verysimpledesigns.com/vectors/ and happy with the result! :D

Spiro Swirl

Though my swirl didn't look exactly like the one in the tutorial, but I'm happy with it! :)

Floral Design

I love thi so much! And again, it do not look like the tutorial one. I made it as 5's desktop wallpaper. :)

Will try to experiment with other tutorials! :)
