Cameron Highlands Trip (18 - 20 May 2010).

At last, after almost 5 years, we got to go on a trip by ourself! Cheers to that! :)

We went there by bus. From Teluk Intan, we need to depart to Tapah before hopping on a bus to Cameron Highlands.

18 May 2010

Woke up early to catch the earliest bus to Tapah which is at 6.30 a.m. We reached the Teluk Intan old bus station at 6.20 a.m. but the bus already leave cause the lady at the counter said the earliest bus is at 6.15 a.m. =.= and the next bus would be at 8.00 a.m. So, we stayed at there loitering and chatting away for the time being.

Bus started off to Tapah at 8.00 a.m. sharp. The bus fare is RM5.00 per person. Reached Tapah at 9.20 a.m. and the next bus to Cameron Highlands would be 10.30 a.m. So, we had our breakfast at a mamak restaurant opposite the Tapah bus station. Bus fare to Cameron Highlands from Tapah is RM7.50 per person. And the route is the old road which is windy and some people doubt it as dangerous.

Reached Cameron Highlands at 12.45 p.m. Called the guest house that we're staying for direction to go there. We're staying at Eight Mentigi Guest House which is new and it's in operation since 1 May 2010. Lucky us! Our room is RM80 per night with attached bathroom. What a bargain and best of all, you get to meet with people from different countries while staying there. :)

After check in, the stomach started to make noise. So, went to the famous T-Cafe to have our lunch. We ordered a burger set, spaghetti bolognese, strawberry scone, mushroom soup, banana lassi and apple lassi.

This way please...

T-Cafe is located at the upstair of Marrybrown and you need to use the side entrance to get there. :)

After lunch, we walked around to find motorbike to rent as we planned to go around by ourself. We found one nearby our guest house for RM100.00 for 3 days. It's a fair deal. After getting the motorbike, we go sight-seeing at Tanah Rata (we're staying at Tanah Rata btw). All of sudden, it becomes foggy and we had to cut our sight-seein journey short.

Foggy...

So, we went back to the guest house and had some rest. For dinner, we had some mamak food at a random shop. Foods are quite nice but expensive! It's understandable that food are expensive here. After that, we went to Starbucks to have coffee while reading and playing some games there. Ah...it feels so nice. :)

At 11.00 p.m., we went back to the guest house and sleep. End of day 1.

19 May 2010

Wake up at 8.00 a.m. and headed to Brinchang for some "tourist-y activities". Before that, we stopped at the town to had our breakfast. We had noodles and tea. After that, we visited the bee farm. Quite disappointed as there aren't anyone to greet and show us around.

Bee Farm.

Then, we stopped by a few place along the way to Cactus Valley but found nothing interesting. Cactus Valley is also a disappointment. The place is not well maintained and flowers look like they're going to die soon. However, get to snap a few nice photos there.

Then, we go to the Smoke House, just for sight-seeing. Great place btw.

Smoke House.

We just stayed at Smoke House area for 10 minutes. After that, we went to MARDI Research Center. I'd been there twice before and I still love that place so much. It is the most beautiful place in Cameron Highlands! :)

After visiting MARDI, 5 decided to go to the public library. That library is so nice!

I forgot what we had for lunch but I remember we had an awesome dinner. :) After dinner, we go back to guest house as we felt very tired.

20 May 2010

Woke up at 9.00 a.m. and we decided to go Brinchang to buy strawberries. Bought 8 boxes for RM5 per box and saw a couple having wedding photo shot there.

Strawberries!

Back to guest house at 11.00 a.m. and we decided to hang out at the lounge area and watch TV. 5 returned the motorbike at noon and we check out at the same time. After that, relaxed for 1 hour at Starbucks before boarding bus to Tapah at 1.30 p.m.

Overall, it's a nice and relaxing trip and I get to rest at a cool place. Will going to visit there next semester break for a trip to the orang asli settlement. :)
