Yay! I AM OFFICIALLY GRADUATED! Ok, maybe not really officially graduated (convocation is probably end of August or early September) but one thing I know is I do not need to go back to the studying life anymore! :D

The Never Been Seen Before Photos!

Just now, I realise that my sister had uploaded some photos during times when I'm few months old. And guess what? I never saw any of these photos before! The youngest me photos that I'd seen is when I'm celebrating my 1st birthday at my maternal grandma's house with a huge cake in the shap of "1".

Here's the photos my sister uploaded to Facebook.

This is me when I'm 2 months old. My face is so round. Lol.

My parents and I.

Cousin Edwin and I with our grandpa.

Cousin Joycelyn and I.

Btw, looking at these photos just makes me happy! I don't know why but I love photographs as they keep the memories stored and after many many years when you look back, it just feel awesome! :)

What the Hot Weather Do To Me.

It was so HOT lately! Average temperature is about 33-35°C during day time and freaking 27-29°C at night! It's HOT ok. Not the average temperament during the rest of the year. It's SUMMER!

What the hot weather do to me? Besides giving me constant chapped lips, the outer layer of my lips' skin become so sensitive that it peels everyday and get healed and peel again. Repetitive process for the past one week. Ughhh...

And what else? Sweat so much...even when I'm sitting in front of the laptop now! Anyhow, I notice my face become smoother. Lol. Don't know if it's the effect of sweating as I don't really sweat unless I go out of the house and get exposed to the sun for 1 minute and the sweat will drip and flow from my body like water pipe (it's in the gene).

At this time, I'll refrain from going out after 10 a.m. and before 7 p.m. Reason one: I don't want get skin cancer. Reason two: I don't want get sick. Reason three: I don't want get dark.

Everyone is complaining of how hot it is nowadays on Facebook. And frequent bathing didn't help either unless you have air-conditioner at home. Apparently, I'm in Kampar home where there's no air-conditioner and I'm missing TI home where there's one there.

I still have one exam left which is on this Saturday. Hope I don't get sick or whatever illness. After that, back to my lovely TI home and bye bye Kampar!

Mother's Day.

My mummy. :)

It's Mother's Day today. A day specially dedicated to the person who bore us, raise us with care and pamper us till now. My mum is a very special woman, very different from your mummy. My mum is an independent, loving, strong and beautiful woman. And I LOVE HER VERY MUCH.

You see, in our family, we do not have this habit/culture of hugging, kissing, saying I Love You and stuff related like that. And yet, we know we love each other so much. For instance, my mum would prepare huge amount of foods and visit us in Kampar whenever she can. And she missed us heaps! I know that cause she called every now and then telling us what happen at home and how we're doing here in Kampar.

Most of friends' mum are beautiful and youthful (it's either they're born with it or they take good care of it). My mum is different. She does not care how she look like. Her face is not smooth. She does not has slim figure. She may appear ugly in front of others but not me. She's always my beautiful angel. She always say, "Appearance is not important, it's your ability that matters." I always remember this.

Also, because my mum is from the kampung and does not have good fashion taste, she always get bullied by some people. And I don't like people to bully my mum and dad. Even that person is my uncle or aunt, I don't give them face. Whoever bully my parents are my enemy.

One rare known fact is my mum only started to learn how to cook after she get married. My mum married at 23-year old and bore me the year after. I would say she's an accomplish cook. She can a variety of dishes, even complicated dishes such as asam laksa, mee rebus and yam cake. Besides, she's a quick learner and she always know what we like to eat. In fact, she know all we like to eat, even our favourite junk food and instant noodle flavour!

Her biggest wish is to travel oversea. Since she has 5 kids she need to look after, she had to hold on to her dream. Since I will be working soon, and my parents wish to go Beijing next year, I hope I can fulfill their dream. My parents are old and they have hard time in raising us, so I wish I can fulfill this dream of theirs.

Happy Mother's Day, mum. Although we're not at home to celebrate with you but you know we love you right? :)

My lovely parents.

Once is Good, Multiple Ain't.

I regard myself as someone who can take jokes, be it people making jokes about me or other people - WITH LIMITATION.

I can take in all kind of jokes as long as it is not in repetitive form. You can pull my leg on the same issue for once or twice but not more because at that point my will get irritated and angry. I used to do the same to people but not nowadays because I realise it may be making the particular person irritated or angry. I think majority of human would feel the same unless the person is really care less about it.

Recently, someone keep on pulling my legs on the same joke. Initially, I'm ok with it but it gets me irritated and angry because that person keep on making the same joke. The person think that I can accept that joke but the person do not realise it is no longer joke - it became an irritant. I know the person meant it as joke but please realise that multiple times of the same joke could end up being a disaster. Just like initially I like eating mutton curry, but when I had them for a few days in a row, I'll get sick of it.

My Face Story.

Acne had been a major concern since puberty...and it still is. It had been 13 years (it started when I'm 12) and I had tried almost all available face care in the market, seriously. Now at 24, they had subsides from frequent breakout to breakout before menses.

Though acnes problem has since under control, I'm left with these problems - oily skin, large pores, scars, rough skin and dark circles. I feel so envious with people who have nice skin like my bf. He has good skin and he only use tap water to clean his face and nothing else. Me on the other hand, need to source high and low for products that works for me.

Sometimes, they work...for a period of time. That's it. My face condition is because of my body and not external environment. Put blame on the hormone. I guess I might have that extra testosterone hormone which is responsible for acne development (read from somewhere). I guess I don't have much acne now is because of the more stable hormone composition.

Regarding my acne scars, I bought TCA peel (chemical peel) from US. Read excellent reviews from people who had use them. Even a friend of mine who use it says it's great. Cheap and efficient. I'd use them for 3 times by now and it's lessen the scar. However, you need to be brave to use it. Will do another post regarding this peel.

Oily skin problem. Until now I still can't solve it. Probably it can't be solve. Only manage to get it under control. I really hate the greasiness and it makes my fringe greasy, my face so shiny and 5 frequently make fun of my face, saying things like shiny "muka oren" (orange face). The large pores are probably the outcome of the oil.

Dark circle story. Probably it's inherited from my dad. My dad has dark circle. End of story. What I do is buying eye cream to nourish it. The "blackness" won't go away.

In many of my facebook photos, they are me with make up on. Make up is good in making me looking fresher and beautiful. But it's also tiresome. My nude face just look tired (even I had enough skin). Thank goodness for the invention of make up.

End of story. Thanks for reading this. If you have any good suggestion for me to improve my face condition, do let me know! :)

Current photo with make up + contact lens + temporary curls.

Lose Weight...Naturally!

Recently, I'm hooked to http://www.dailymail.co.uk, a very interesting news portal that has wide range of news. My interest would be in Femail, Health and TV&Showbiz.

I want to share a very interesting article here. It's about how you can curb your appetite naturally and lose weight. The reason I said it's interesting because I gained extra kilos which I "determine" to shed off.

I might just copy the whole article content and paste it here.

APPLES

All fruit and vegetables are high satiety (or filling) foods that contain a lot of water, air and fibre to produce ‘full-up’ signals in the small intestine — but research has shown apples are particularly effective for weight watchers.

Once digested, they produce the hormone GLP-1, which sends signals to the brain to persuade you into thinking you are full up.

One U.S. study showed people ate 15 per cent fewer calories after having an apple before a main meal. Apparently, the trick is to eat high-satiety foods at the beginning of a meal so you feel fuller early on and don’t compensate later by eating more.

TIP: Eat one medium-sized apple 15 minutes before meals to help regulate your appetite.

RED PEPPERS

Feeling the burn could be the best way to get bikini ready, but it doesn’t have to mean hours sweating in the gym. Recent research found that sprinkling just half a teaspoon of chopped-up red chilli peppers on meals can curb your appetite.

Scientists discovered Capsaicin — the element responsible for giving chilli peppers their heat — reduces hunger pangs, while increasing energy levels.

You won’t get the same effect just by taking a supplement, claim the researchers from Purdue University, Indiana — you have to taste the pepper.

And, if you normally avoid spicy food — even better. Those who did not regularly eat chilli experienced an even greater decrease of hunger, especially for fatty, salty and sweet foods.

TIP: Most dried and fresh chillies contain capsaicin. Sprinkle half a teaspoonful over main meals.

SEAWEED

Starting your day with a seaweed shake could be the secret to keeping slim.

Dutch scientists have found that adding algae, a natural dietary fibre derived from seaweed, to a drink, suppressed hunger pangs by 30 per cent and kept dieters feeling full until lunchtime.

Researchers studied the algae in liquid form and found that, upon reaching the stomach, it becomes a gel, slowing down the emptying of food and mimicking the effect of eating solids.

The American Dietetic Association agreed that it may stop people feeling hungry between meals.

TIP: The algae-based meal replacement drink is still in development, but algae supplements are available from good health food shops such as Holland and Barrett.

GREEN TEA

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has reported green tea contains catechins, a substance thought to stimulate the body to burn more calories, helping you to beat the bulge in double-quick time.

Drinking three to six cups of green tea a day speeds up the rate your body burns cellular energy by up to 40 per cent, and also increases the rate of fat burning.

Researchers found this effect is caused by the combination of caffeine and flavonoids found in the tea, whether it is drunk hot or cold. Green tea also contains certain antioxidants which are believed to have an effect on the hormone Leptin — responsible for controlling appetite.

TIP: Substitute other hot drinks for green tea, and consume regularly throughout the day for a figure-fixing beverage.

EGGS

The quality of egg protein is the highest of any whole food product — second only to human breast milk — and according to a recent scientific review, this high protein content plays a role in weight management.

According to a report in the Journal Of the American College of Nutrition, eating two scrambled eggs for breakfast resulted in people eating fewer calories for the rest of the day — and, particularly, the next 36 hours.

TIP: Kick start the day with an egg to stave off hunger pangs until lunch.

LEMONS

Lemons contain pectin, a natural soluble fibre and gelling agent, which mops up fat stored by the body, and slows the digestive process so you feel full after eating less food.

U.S. researchers found that lemon acids and pectin can slow the absorption of sugar after a meal, and avoid those low blood-sugar dips which can result in snacking.

Vitamin C in lemons also helps us to produce carnitine — an amino acid to encourage the body to burn fat. Studies at Arizona State University found that volunteers with adequate vitamin C burned 30 per cent more fat during exercise than those with low levels.

TIP: Try to incorporate the zest and juice of a lemon in your diet daily, squeeze over salads, into sauces or simply add to warm water and drink.

WATER

We all know that drinking water before meals makes us feel fuller, but just how useful is it as a natural appetite suppressant?

A study published in 2010 concluded that drinking water just before meals can actually help people to lose weight. Researchers split 48 overweight adults aged 55 to 75 into two groups.

The first group was asked to eat a low-calorie diet but not to drink any extra water before meals.

The second group was asked to eat the same diet but also to drink two glasses of water (500 ml) just before each meal.

After 12 weeks, members of the water drinking group had lost, on average, about 2kg more than the non-water drinking group — simply because they felt fuller during each meal and as a result ate less.

TIP: Drink a large glass of water prior to meals. Remember drinking excessive amounts can be dangerous, so be careful not to exceed the extra 500ml recommended.

GARLIC

Researchers in Israel recently discovered that not only can the humble garlic bulb prevent weight gain; it might also cause weight loss.

The key to garlic’s health-giving properties is a compound called allicin, also responsible for giving it that pungent smell. But the trial found the strong odour of garlic stimulates the satiety centre in the brain, reducing feelings of hunger.

It also stimulates the nervous system to release hormones such as adrenalin, which in turn speed up your metabolic rate so you burn more calories.

TIP: Add garlic routinely to all savoury dishes when cooking. Powdered supplements are also effective and help avoid garlic breath!

SLEEP

If you want to stay slim, get an early night. As you will have read above, leptin and another hormone, ghrelin, are both known to directly influence our appetite — when leptin falls, we crave crbohydrates, when ghrelin levels increase our appetite is stimulated.

U.S. scientists discovered those who slept less than eight hours a night not only had lower levels of leptin, and increased amounts of ghrelin, but also had higher levels of body fat.

So in a nutshell, those who slept the least, weighed the most.

TIP: Get at least eight hours’ sleep a night to prevent over-eating.

CINNAMON

A Scandinavian study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that when volunteers were given rice pudding with three grams of cinnamon, they produced less insulin after the meal.

Because insulin is the hormone that turns excess sugar into fat, this means less weight gain. As well as lowering blood sugar levels cinnamon may slow down the
emptying of the stomach, meaning it can make you feel fuller for longer.

TIP: Sprinkle a teaspoon of cinnamon daily over cereals, yoghurt or fruit, use to season puddings or even stir into coffee. It is especially effective if consumed directly after meals.

Leaving Kampar - What I Will Miss Here.

10 more days to the final final paper of my life as student. Pretty sick of being student and having exam after exam for 20/24 years of my entire life! That's it! No more studies and exam after I finish my Degree! Say YES to working life!

Anyhow, I won't miss my life as a student in UTAR but I definitely will miss the beautiful landscape and a handful of wonderful people here.

Oh, I will miss my house here. My house is pretty nice and I love it so much! It has the same feel as my TI home. Definitely will miss it. I will miss the tranquil and peaceful life here.

Food! Kampar has so much good food. That's why I gained extra kilos in my 4 years here. Pretty serious weight gain in which my face gets rounder and chubbier T.T I will miss claypot rice, nice mixed rice, Premas curry house, kedai makanan sihat, pasar malam food etc.

Of course I will miss James. And I remember that fateful day when he went away from all of us. Anyhow, he will be dearly missed and remember by us. :)

I just realise I don't miss much thing here except the stated above. Much experiences gained from many perspectives - friendship, relationships, human behaviour and attitude which really help me grow up much faster.

Anyhow, Kampar is just 45 minutes drive away from TI. So, I can always go back to visit this place! Kampar rocks!

Guide to Online Shopping.

I know many are afraid of buying via online. They're probably afraid of getting cheated of their money, product shown will not be the same when it's delivered to their house or the parcel lost somewhere in the middle during shipping.

I'd been an avid online shopper since 3 years ago. Reason being: I'm in Kampar and there's no shopping complex and the nearest one is in Ipoh. So, my first purchase is a T-shirt and from that moment on, I shop less at physical shop.

Reasons why people love online shopping
Convenient
Lots of Variety
Saves Time

So, to you guys who're afraid to shop online and wanted to do so, here's some tips for you.

1. Buy from reputable sellers.
How to know if the seller is honest? If you want to buy from sellers at ebay or lelong, you can check their reputation. Here's the screen shoot (marked with red rectangle) on where you can check the reputation of seller.

So, how to know if it's safe if I'm buying from blogshops? Here's what I do. I check how long they've been selling and read reviews from sites such as http://shoppersbite.blogspot.com/ and http://fashionista1001.blogspot.com/

2. Buy from blogshops/online store that shows real photo.
This is important if you do not want to get cheated or feel cheated. Most blogshops (especially those selling apparel and accessories) are using photos that are send to them from their supplier to advertise. In that case, I'd get cheated for 2 times and from that moment onwards I only buy from seller who modeled the clothings themselves. Also, make sure you make inquiries such as the vital static of the model (so you know if you'll fit in) and material that the clothing is made of.

3. Communicate well with the seller.
Make sure communication is clear. Make sure you know what you're buying and who you're buying from. Also, important part is on the payment and shipping details. Really make sure you make payment to the right bank account number and give correct shipping details.

That's the 3 rules I practice and I never have any undelivered/lost parcel. My online purchases includes my hp, camera, bra and bags. My most recent purchase is a TCA Peel from a US site.

Oh ya, if you're buying from the States or Japan, you can use vshub to ship your stuff back to Malaysia at a fraction of cost.

Hope you guys enjoy reading this guide and HAPPY ONLINE SHOPPING! :)

Disney's Cinderella.

Here's a shocking fact. My bf had NEVER seen Cinderella before!! How I know about this?

Yesterday, after our second exam, my sister was watching Cinderella on her laptop. So, I was curious why 5 would watch it too. And the funny thing is, he ask questions like "Got mouse in Cinderella one ar?" and said something like "The fat mouse is so cute!"

I was like =.=!. Then I said "Eh, you never watched Cinderella before?" He replied, "Yes!"

Kesian betul! I wonder what he watch when he was a kid.

Gus Gus. The cute mouse he was talking about.

Justin Bieber Egged at Concert!

I was surfing the net and found this article:-

Bieber pelted with eggs at concert

This happened at Sydney's Acer Arena on Friday night. Lol. Never though this could really happened!

Here's the video!

Lol!

Right Brain vs. Left Brain

Just now my sister told me something I really disagree in. It contradicts with the knowledge that I know. Somehow, she says her friend's information is correct. So, I decided to do some research on this matter.

She says her friend tell her that if you clasp your hand together and the right thumb is uppermost, it indicates that you use your left brain more. And this is what I got after Google-ing for some time:-

"Here’s an easy test to check if you are predominantly right or left-brain. Clasp your hand together and check out which thumb is uppermost. Left-brainers will keep their left thumb up and right-brainers will keep their right."

Fyi, I'm pretty curious about stuff like this but I'm sure that my dominant brain is right!

So, here're the lists of traits/characters that people with dominant left and right brain has:-

Btw, you can go to Google and there are many more you will discover. Another test her is the optical test. Watch the video below. Is the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?

The Right Brain vs Left Brain test - Optical Illusion

If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.

So you know your dominant brain now?
